Our purpose

At North Tacoma Montessori Center, we see it as our task—and the responsibility of educators—to help human beings develop. Our goal is to offer environments that stimulate each child’s inner potential at every stage of development.

Classrooms are arranged to offer meaningful choices. Educators observe closely, prepare carefully, and guide children toward increasingly independent activity.

From one campus to five

NTMC’s history in Proctor reaches back to the 1980s. Kate began working at the school in 1988 and became the owner in 1994. The organization later grew to include 12th Street, Nature Center, Achievement Center, and Ruston.
